polo gt ecu loom

Hello there,
  I am currently prepping an engine for a swap into my series 1.
I have the polo gt engine loom ready to go - my original plan, which is a bit cack handed, was to run the gt engine loom plus fuse box and run it along side the original golf fuse box.

I have since been told that the ecu can be run by adding as few as 3 wires to the original golf fuse box?

Is this true and can anyone infor me what wires need adding, where they are/what they look like and where they should be wired in to.

Basically, as much detailed info as possible would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it's fairly easy.

You should have some main power feeds, earths and a couple of multi plugs.

Tell me what you have and I will give you as much information as I can.

It's not difficult.
