check the oil pressure switch(es) on rear of head, and the wiring to it/them

Hot start issue will be separate to the oil pressure light issue. As above for the oil pressure switch problem

Basically, the act that it wouldnt start until you waited about 10 minutes means that there might be an issue with starting when hot. Do you know what carburetor you have? (i.e weber or pierburg)  sounds like possibly a problem with the choke mechanism or maybe it just needs a good tune?

But this issue is separate to the issue with the oil light flashing. That can be cause by many things, wiring being faulty, or the pressure switch may have failed or in my case, there is an internal issue within my clocks and the light flashes whenever it fancies

Thanks for the response

The choke mechanism is a bit crappy quite stiff and doesn't really work as it should on mornings the car rarely starts with joke out it's always off basically and its a Webber carb

Whet would I find the pressure switch to change it to see if it is that

Hmm, Ive not go a weber myself but know theyre usually more reliable than the pierburg one i have!
Im not entirely sure what the problem could be, does it run alright once up to temperature? and are the plugs looking a bit black? also, has it always been like this or has it suddenly changed?

On the back of the cylinder head at the top above the inlet manifold there are two sensors, one should be blue and one white i think, rubjonny should be able to advise you on the correct orientation of the switches and the wiring

depending on the age of the car you'll have 1 or 2 switches, with yellow and black/blue wires to them. the blue or brown switch is the one that does the light at idle so start with that one, make sure wire is clean and switch isnt leaking oil :)
