No temp reading on my clocks

Not getting any reading I have swapped the sensor but still nothing, is that the right sensor and wire to it in the picture? Cheers Matt 

oem ones are black, but that one is a pattern part so colourt not really valid. to test clocks and wirign earth that wire gauge should go to full

Cheers Jonny will try that later on, is the a certain temp sensor I should use for there if its not the wiring that at fault? Is that the right wire to the sensor? Red and yellow

wire is correct ya, for the sensor its a black m10x1 standard. same for all mk1 up to 87ish, early mk2, all mk2 16v and diesels etc

Well the gauge went up when I earthed the wire so must be a faulty sensors
