Gasket sealant

Post

I'm replacing gaskets on rocker cover, exhaust manifold and exhaust down pipe.

Should I use any sealant, if so what is recommended?

Thanks in advance.

I didn't use any on the rocker cover mate but i swapped it from cork to rubber gasket and its been good no leaks i just made sure it was mega clean and nipped up the rocker cover nuts after a couple of hundred miles or so

Gasket sealant

Thanks. I couldn't find a rubber gasket for a 1.1 so ordered a cork one. I think there is a topic somewhere with recommended torque to tighten bolts up to, so will find that next.

No sealant on the exhaust manifold?

The torque on the Valve cover nuts are 87 in/lbs.
No sealant on the Gasket, but you can use one drop of sealant on the cam over seal meets the cork gasket each side.
