tracking to much for kwik fit?

i have another problem with this golf of mine! tracking one side only? took it down to kwik fit to get it sorted because i dont have a flat drive or equiptment to do a 4 wheel track myself. i was told that there was no more adjustment left on the offside so he couldnt get the wheels alined with the stering wheel. they said to me you can get kits to convert the mrk1 so the wheels can be ajusted both sides. i got one of these kits and converted it over yesterday. dont ever do this coz it is a complete wast of time.i took it back down kwik fit thinking the tracking would be sorted the they turned round and said"we dont tuch these when they have been converted over you need to take it to a place that does 4 wheel "alinement!!! :banghead: i thought they were the people to go to. well they dont do much else do they?please help, im in south london where do i take it now?

Ah,right, line the nearside up by eye,the side without adjustment.(best with a straight bit of steel or wood held on the tyre running along the sill)
Ignore the steering wheel position
adjust the offside so it is parallel with the tracking guages.
then take the steering wheel off and center it up
Mk2s are the same
Bert (ex tyresales)

Thats not a rod knockin, its a diesel stupid! floppy top and 1 tin top

I've had this prob before.  When they start bleating that they can't do one side cos of the steering wheel tell them to do it anyway and sort the steeing wheel position yourself - it's dead easy  8)
