Porsche wheels

Currently thinking about changing the wheels on my golf to a set of porsche numbers - quite like the 928 and 944 styles.

My car is currently on 15" G60's, but also have a set of 15" polished Borbet Atwee (Aitwee, or whatever!) with stretched tyres, which aren't my thing.  So will probably sell these and look fior the porsche wheels.

The question I have is how much bother is it to fit the porsche wheels? I know you need the pcd adaptors, but am unsure how this would effect total width / stance etc, and even if the larger 16" would fit under the arch.

Any light shed on the subject would be most appreciated

Basically because the porsche wheels have the higher offset, mine have are et52 on my porsche teledials, they would be too far in the arch without reducing this figure.  By adding adaptors which a) mean that you can put the 5 stud porsche wheels on your 4 stud hub and b) reduce the offset figure to a more sensible for the mk1.  I have 25mm adaptors for mine so taking the offest on the wheels down to 27.  They are 15x7inch and fit flush against the front arch and sit a little further in on the rear.  I hope that helps.
