Golf 1980 1.1 drive shaft keeps popping out!!

Hi guys, the other day I was getting out of a tight parking spot when I lost all drive! So had a quick look and noticed the drive shaft had fallen out of the cv joint! So I got a new cv joint kit with new snap clip and everything, fitted it all, was ok drove it for a few days and I went over a speed bump and it popped out agen and lost all drive!!

Any ideas???

Could be one of the following:

1- Drive shaft is bent, therefore not fitting securely into CV
2- Suspension leg or hub is out of line.
3- mountings could be work, hence causing play to alignment of GBox

For it to pop out as you have described there has to be something visibly wrong.

Check your wishbone and ball joints etc.

I checked for free play in my suspension, couldn't see or feel any! If the camber was drastically out could that cause it?! I'll check my engine and gear box mounts tomorrow, and surely if the shaft was bent I'd get one hell of a vibration? Drives fine otherwise
