4 to 5 speed gear linkage

Hi can anyone tell me the difference between 4 & 5 speed linkages Thanks 

4 speed linkage goes straight to the gearbox and 5 speed has brakects on the steering rack,

I have recently converted mine to 5 speed from 4, and apart from the 5 speed box you will need to change the steering rack for one from a 5 speed car and get the linkage to and while doing this buy a bush kit and replace all the bushed while you at it.

or if its a big block some of the linkages are different lengths though the basic setup is the same. to be safe get everythign off a donor to save any heartache half way thru the swap
