VW Passat B2 GL5 parts

Hello! Been in love with the Passat B2 for a while. Debating pulling the trigger and buying one, but thought I'd ask, how hard are parts to find? I notice a lot of the normal VW sites that sell Golf parts don't list them - are they fairly universal with existing Golf/VW running gear, or are they a right pain to find the correct parts for them?
