I was tempted to put a 1.8t into my cabrio, but as time (and money) were against me, I opted for the stock route! This time I want try out the turbo engine plan, so after a quick hunt on ebay I bought this.

180BHP Seat Leon engine with turbo, loom, clocks, keys for just £360 delivered, bargain

Bought / Have
G60 steel wheels
SACHS clutch and G60 flywheel
100mm Driveshafts
280mm brakes using Vauxhall
Big brake servo and MC
I still need to find/buy the following
Gearbox 02A CBA (G60 box) or 02J - WANTED
Shifter Tower from MK4 golf - WANTED
Engine mounts
Intercooler - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FMIC-Intercooler-Aluminium-Alloy-Front-Mounted-Mount-Turbo-Universal-Two-Sizes-/191028797250?pt=UK_DIY_Materials_Plumbing_MJ&var=&hash=item2c7a341f42
Downpipe and Exhaust
Loom and Decode
Rear sliding window - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Volkswagen-Caddy-MK1-Sliding-Rear-Window-Slider-Tinted-Glass-/111373870939?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19ee66675b
Interior re trim
Chrome bumper
I "think" that I have everything else! - famous last words!
Oh, the challenge is to complete it for under £4k and finish it before the wife (Susie) finds out!

Looks like a good list of parts there too, what colour have you decided on? Shame you aren't closer as I would've given you a hand!

Thanks for the offer of some help….I will need loads!
I already have 2 alpine white cabriolets so wanted to try another colour with this. I think black would look very nice!

It isn't running at the moment, it will turn over, but it will not fire! - I am not going to be using the engine, but if I can get it to run that would be a great start!
Updates to follow!

I have had a quote from my bodyshop to collect the caddy - only £50 (the bonus of buying local!)
I have purchased some 280mm brakes from a Vauxhall (so will bolt straight on) and will be collecting some bolts from Classic VW along with a lot of other parts soon.
I have purchased a shifter and it and it looks like I've sorted a G60 gearbox too!

I am still on the hunt for a larger MC and Servo if anyone has anything lying around

As you can see in the picture the caddy is safe in my bodyshop's storage workshop.
I may have to finish and sell one of my MK1 golfs to fund the caddy to the standard I want, so will have to do some long thinking.
I am selling the back if anyone wants a cool agricultural top for their caddy!

Your fleet keeps growing! lol Looking forward to seeing this one evolve![]()
It is growing, the wife told me to stop buying golfs! (although not brave enough to let her know about this one just yet)
The plans for this one are (i think) black with chrome for the bodywork, some nice G60 wheels and a red or black interior!
