A proper intro to my addiction....

Post

My name is Dan and I am an addict….

On top of my recently acquired MK1, I have a number of other vehicles (some projects, some not). So here is a quick whistle-stop tour!

The Mk1:

The MEV Rocket:

My other cars (just finished a light restoration on the Audi Cab):

And finally, my pride and joy:

So who else is an addict?

Nice collection - I recognise that clarke garage in the background of the Golf… do you find that the car is perpetually damp in it or not? I've got one around the side for the Audi and it always seem humid and damp in there.

I did until I put a tarpaulin on the floor the moisture rises up from the ground onto the top then drips the tarp stops that from happening

Welcome to the club first of all. 🙂

I have to agree with you about your choice for your "Pride and joy"!
It would have to be mine with one or two possible exceptions.

But unless I win the lottery I'll never fulfill my dreams.

The first would have to be the Audi Quattro Sport S1, not to be confused with the Quattro Turbo. This one produced 306 bhp in road form and 444 bhp in competition initially. Titanium/Alloy body and I think about 18 cm's shorter than the Turbo with a very limited production run for Homologation purposes.

Next would be the Porsche 911 Martini.

The final part of the my collection along with my Mk1 would have to be the Lancia Stratos Italia.

That's it for now, all I have to do is remember two things come Friday. Firstly play the Euro Lottery and secondly win! 😉 👍🏼

Some very cool choices there, particularly the Audi, those things are cool. I passed on a LWB UR Quattro a few years ago and have regrestted it ever since (not in the same league as that, though).

There was a Quattro Sport S1 sold a couple of years ago for a 1/2 a million $`s but that was Concourse condition and insanely low mileage, just over 5,000 miles!

I was fortunate enough to get to drive not just one but two back in the 80's. I'd say back then the Turbo was a quick car but then drive the Sport and you'd see the difference.
It was unbelievably fast and of course stuck to the road like sh_t to a blanket and would make you think there was something seriously wrong with your Turbo model.

How do I know all this?
Well I worked for a large VW/Audi dealership for 5 and a 1/2 years.
I was one of about 1/2 a dozen to be trained by Audi professionally to sell the specifically the Turbo model. 😉

Ok enough of that back on top! 🙂👍🏼
