I wondered if anyone has any m10x160mm starter bolts to suit an 02j gearbox setup in my 20vt.

Need some quite urgently as my front mount has pooped itself and destroyed the current starter threads.
will pay extra beer money to anyone that can help me out.

Please message me on here ir text 0797 605 7763

Gracias.

Ross.

There's an old, badly worded post on ClubGTI...

https://www.clubgti.com/forums/index.php?threads/mk1-20v-starter-motor-bolts.231203/

The way I'm reading it is you need N 101 035 01, which they state is M10x160mm

Googling that seems to confirm same, plus that it's 1.5 pitch thread.

What I can't find is the tensile strength, nor the threaded length written anywhere, I'd imagine it may need to be to 10.9 (or possibly more) depending on the application you want it for, it's likely on the existing bolts head but if not / illegible, you'd need to check that for yourself to be on the safe side.

These are currently on eBay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284720451459 ,but as you can see have a Porsche part number.

There's an apparent error in the listing, the title says M10x160mm whereas the description says M10x130mm, again Googling WHT003792 seems to confirm it is infact M10x160 and that it's to 1.5 pitch. No mention of threaded length that I can find for this one either.

Might be worth messaging the seller to discuss / confirm measurements / pay to post ASAP if it's what you're after?

Just realised the ebay one is for a single bolt... If that Porsche part number does match and you need multiples, have a look at Deutsch Parts, state they're in stock too -

https://www.deutsche-parts.co.uk/wht003792-new-genuine-part.html

Bizarrely they're doing singles at £7.99 less VAT, however if you order more than 4 that plummets to £2.08 each, so £12.48 with the VAT gets you 5 times as many!

Thanks bud.

Yeah I've hunted all over and they vary massively in length and even the bolt size itself. Some are listed as M12 and they clearly ain't etc.

Anyhoo, I think I've found some from a guy on eBay who was kind enough to measure for me.

Gladly take more tho just in case.
