Hi one and all

Having had a number of Golf GTi's (Mk1, Mk3 VR6, Mk4 130, Mk5) in the past I am now looking at a GTi Cabriolet as a long term keeper…so what better forum to join!

Welcome GTi_Fan

First off, I help run the Lincolnshire region with Chris Gordonthegolfer who is based in Lincoln. We're hopefully getting our next meet together soon, so keep an eye out. However, we will be at Stanford Hall show next month which is well worth a visit if you haven't been?

Secondly, I have a very tidy GTI Cabby for sale at present. New hood, even has aircon and electric windows and wanting for nothing! - http://vwgolfmk1.org.uk/forum/index.php?page=topicview&id=classifieds%2Fcars-for-sale_2%2Fmk1-golf-cabrio-gl

Let me know if of any interest

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Liking your cabby…however…today I have been all the way up to Edinburgh and put a deposit on a lovely Sportline…very happy.  Hope to be picking it up next Friday.

It would be good to meet some other like minded souls…when and where do gatherings take place?

I am in the 'uphill area' of Lincoln…anywhere near you Chris?

Ah congrats Nigel    Was it you asking about H611 ERP? Is that what you bought?

I owned H610 ERP Sportline until last August.

We usually meet at the Woodcocks pub by the marina on a Saturday lunchtime - we've not done one for a while and need to! We also do the Sunday autojumble at Newark sometimes.

It was indeed I that was asking about H611 ERP…how uncanny with regards yours…I was only talking to Derek who owns the car I am getting about your plate.

Loving your business Andy…exactly captures the spirit of the retro scene for us 40somethings.

Oh nice one, you'll enjoy that ;) I love red Sportlines and do miss mine.

Thanks for the kind words on the business - it is great indeed for us 40 somethings! lol

Get some pics up when you get the car for us to see ;)

Cheers Andy…have started reading your thread.  Registration dates for the two cars is also the same…thats probably to be expected I guess, but still seems uncanny to me.

I too will be needing a hood cover but also the trims for either side of the boot…so if anyone knows of some good ones, please let me know.

It's a shame I don't still have mine - having the 'brothers' at the regional meet would have turned heads! lol

The car now resides in Ireland and it's been registered on a local plate so I guess that H610 ERP will never live again by number at least?

Shughy Hugh can help you out with the boot cards. Have you seen his Sportline Register web site?

That would have looked great having them together…obviously you will have to buy it back Andy!  :)

I will make contact with Hugh once the car is home with me next week.  His website is very good and convinced me I had made the right decision to go for a Sportline.

Hi Nigel congrats on your purchase of a Sportline. Welcome to the club!

I think I saw your car on piston-heads last week. It looks a tidy motor.

I have an original set of unused boot cards so can cusp ply templates if needed.

I was actually speaking to the new owner of Andys old car tonight who is putting the car through a complete body repair and paint.

Welcome to drop me a line thru the site or on the forum.  :)

Cheers Hugh.

Thanks for that Hugh…will let you know once I have picked the car up.  However, saying that I looked on cabby-info.com and wondered whether this car should have had them or not.
