Step-by-step how to upload a custom profile pic/avatar

Step by step guide on how to get one of you pictures to show under your username

I've noticed a lot of people who sign up use the default avatar, so i've put together this quick guide on how to upload your own :).

A) Once logged in go to "My Profile" this is found on the homepage or on the forum home screen


B) In "your profile", click the edit button


C) When the edit screen loads, click the "avatar" button.


D)1. Make sure you tick the box next to "upload"
    2. Click the "upload" button, this is the same as the browse button on other sites.


E) Just like any other site this brings up a browser to look through your documents, just double click the picture you want to use (don't worry image doesn't have to be resized before)

F) When you've double clicked the image you want, the file path will show in the box below the upload check box. Click "Save" at the bottom of the screen


G) You will now see a loading bar come up in blue, this is the status of your upload. Once uploaded the picture will be resized to fit the 100x100 forum size


H) The screen will now refresh back to your profile, and your new avatar will show on the right hand side



I hope that this helps some people out :).

If this works you should see a good pic on left. If not will look very thick as its a traitor forward guide.

Hi , just had a go at this when I pick my photo nothing comes up in the URL box and it then takes me to a page where it tells me I have to fill in fields with a * which are location fields I do this and it tells me there are other fields to fill but there are not ! Any help thanks lee

I have filled in the mandatory fields of Country and Region for you. You can sort your Avatar out now !!

Hi ade, it's still not letting me add the picture and ask me to fill in fields this time my date of birth done that no joy . Lee

You cannot upload a file, you have to use the URL to point to picture stored on photo bucket or Flickr etc

You need to click the little circle next to "upload" if you want to upload direct, youre leaving "URL" checked meaning the system is expecting a web address not a local file.
….. i think :) ………

Some how when i push the edit button there are no options to change my avatar ?
This field is blanc…. probably i do something wrong ?
