Morning campers,

Just looking my first mk1 cab as a summer car to ride in and restore as i go along!

is there much difference between the 1.6 and the 1.8? Will be doing most of the work myself.  :lol:

welcome old chap, cab would be nice,
1.6 loves being revved :P  :P  :P
1.8 more talk (don't know how to spell it the right way  :oops: ) slighlt quicker to 60 dash, i personley prefer the drive of the 1600 :P

plently of knowlegable members on here who will be able to guide you in the right direction.

P.s if looking at the cabs the 1.8 clipper a carb engine with less power then the gti units  :mrgreen:

nice, not too bothered about 1/4 mile time or anything - more interested on ease of repair and general condition/price of the ones that are left on the road!

I would presume that most 1.8 gti's have had the bu11ocks raced off them by now, so 1.6 or the clipper it is.

I've got a 1.8 gti with 58000 on the clock and has had a blessed life so they are out there if you look hard enough :pray:
