just joined!

i'm useless on the computer, I have owned a clipper for 12 years or so, used to be wifes everyday car. She wanted a Mini ! so in the garage the golf went. It comes out on sunny days and we fight over it, so its now insured in my name only!! My everyday car, i blew the turbo and loads of other bits and its been off the road for months so have had to use the golf through the winter. Its totally original but now its looking tired. I need a new roof but I want a a whole job doing, not just the outer skin. I live in Bristol. Can anyone suggest a good supplier and fitter. My drivers seat back has also collapsed and neither seat tipping mechanism is working. Any advice on seat repair /replacement.
Not sure I want to use smily faces, is it compulsary?

Welcome aboard fella,
You can do the roof, interliner, pad and hood yourself.
I did  the lot on mine.
I can help you with info, sourcing bits etc.
The seat could just be replaced with a donor seat and swap the fabric covers over or there are kits out there to transform the whole interior.
The tilt mech is operated by 2 cables a short one that gos across the bottom of the seat and another longer one that goes from the tilt lever to the catch, if you operate the lever you can see if any of the catches move.

Cheers
