Hello new from Aberdeen

Hi All

Eventually got round to joining.
I have a MK1 GTi in Lhasa green 1983 got 101K on clock, had it for around 2 years now but havent had time to get near it.
Its my 2nd MK1 I had a Mars Red Campaign about 10 years ago but had to sell due to relocating.
Hoping this winter I shall be abe to start work on it. Few rust spots which need attention, around fuel cap and boot lock.
Thinking about sticking a 1.8T in or 2.0 16v. Opinions welcome folk on advantages and disadvantages of both.
Also recently bought a MK1 caddy 1.6D which is another long term project.

Great Forum by the way guys!

Thanks
Iain

Hi Iain

Ad already said get some pics up so we can see your motor.

Will your car be on the road next year as I will be organising a few meets at car shows in Scotland next year when the weather gets better.

Check out the thread in the regional forum and post on it so I remember to contact you next year!!

Hope you get started on the car over the winter.

Cheers Chris

Yes the caddy did used to belong to a sparky in inverness, think he had it for most of its life.
Think his surmane was Gardener, can faintly make out the writing on the truckman top.
He had it from new, 2nd owner was also from inverness and just used whilst working on his house.

I'm just waiting for a 1.9 TDi engine arriving for it, hopefully get it in over the next few months
Cheers
