Desperate for a MK1

Hello everyone!  My name is Terri, I'll admit I dont own a MK1, but my dad used to have one when I was younger, and since I passed my test 5 years ago i've wanted one!  and I will not rest until I have one!

Until I have enough money to buy the one I want, this website will have to do for my Golfy fix! This site is great fun by the looks of it, so I thought i'd join even though I dont own one.  I will one day, it's my goal in life!  :cheer:

Thanks Drew!  I have seen so many on ebay, I know they're not THAT expensive, but i want to try and get one that will be reliable?!  and if i cant do that, i'll need to save lots of cash so i can fix an unreliable one!  I'll get there - thanks! :)

wow wow wow, a reliable golf?!  8O

just joking, there a reliable (ish).

I have never seen so many mk1 golfs for sale as i have done over the last few weeks, so i think it is definately a buyers market at the moment. Especially as prices are getting lower and parts seem to be more available?

any way, welcome!

Regards,  A.J.

make sure you do, they are lots of fun, and not too bad to work on, especially with the amount of help there is in the forums.

not too bad to work on?  I wouldn't be doing the work - for 2 reasons….. 1) I haven't got a clue, I could possibly change a flat, but that's all 2) I wouldn't want to break a nail on a dirty engine!!

Maybe I should take up a new hobby!  and learn all about engines!! 8O   That'd impress a few people!

hi mate,
i had never touched an engine until i got my mk1, but now i just cant stop meself, compared to most modern cars the engine is simple enough so theres quite alot you can do yourself, which can make the difference financially, its a learning curve but a nice one!! and a great hobby, more of a way of life really,
god i sound obssesive,
good luck with your search, try the for sale section here, that way you know youll be buying off someone with a real interest not some dodgy trader on ebay.
cheers
