Ultimate Dubs 8th March 2009

Has anybody enquiried about a club stand at this event yet?

Welcome | Ultimate Dubs

It looks like the inside stands are full now! But there is a possiblity of an outside one.

Would anybody be interested? If so I'll send an email to the organisers.

Think you need to get on with organising a stand Dano, it's way to early to get down to the nitty gritty of who to put on a stand. It's limited space outside, the first main show of the year and space goes quickly, so book a stand ASAP if you want the club to have a stand there.

Gammy,

I tried this 2 years ago, posted up early so as to guage interest and there were no takers.

Then there were moans that the 'car park' style stand was no good.

I'm NOT going to book a place if there are no takers, whether that be because its too early or because folk don't want to commit. Owners can't have it both ways. Its also unfair on the organisers to put a place aside for us and we don't use it.

Either you want a stand or you don't. if you do you need to commit yourselves because, as Warren says it the first water cooled of the season and its already FULL inside!!!!!

So, who would be interested if we were to book an OUTSIDE stand????

ta, Dan

The attempt 2 years ago wasn't a stand, it was an attempt to get a line up of mk1's, which due to stewards etc not being made fully aware of the attempt, was a failure with only 4 mk1's and only 2 of them were from the club, and yes it was worth moaning about, they were put in the "Cars for sale" area   , I'm astonished you take it as moans as it was pretty crap that year.

This year, thanks to Ant, Ultimate Dubs outside stand was over subscribed, we had space allocated for 5 cars and a list of 10 cars just in case.

Just seems strange why this show needs to have members express a desire to attend it, before being considered as a show for the club, yet the same wont be asked of the other main shows.

tell you what then….

You sort it out.

You seem to have a lot to say on the matter, its bets to leave it to someone who knows what they're talking about.

Sorry I dared to mention it. Over to you from here Warren, I'll sort myself out.

Thanks for your input.

Oh and while we're at it, if I'm soooo wrong to canvas prior to booking and therefore letting the organisers down, have a look at your comments in Wednesday 5th september 2007….

Dano, on the subject of Ultimate Dubs, (in the Edition 38 topic  ), you said it's possible to have an inside stand, am I right in thinking you have to have all the cars inside the night before? if so that might be a bit of a stumbling block for those coming on the day of the show itself (Sunday). Whereas an outside stand alongside the Dubmarines etc could be quite enjoyable and no need to get there till the morning of the show, my preference would be outside, at least I can have a fag (if I'm still smoking by then  ). What's the opinions of people who will be attending?

Where's the difference????

this year its a 6 car limit need 2 pics of each car an the organisers need to confirm the car, so basically needs to be up to a decent standard. you have to get ther before 9 an not allowed to leave until 7!

I'm up for it again, that is if i'm allowed on the stand this time. There's a cracking road to drive from Ludlow to Telford, which is always worth it.

That quote was because it was asked whether to have a stand indoors or outside, with good reason being given for why it would suit more members to have an outside stand and not just because I could have a fag and make cups of tea.  Being as it was the first time of having a proper stand at Ultimate Dubs, questions like that were asked and opinions taken.

Your question this time, was if anyone had organised a stand for this year, then you question whether it was worth doing due to poor attendance at something that wasn't really a club stand, even if the banner was up that day, it was only to make more people aware of the club, but no representatives from the club were outside.  It seemed like you were unaware of this years success outside, which you are probably aware of now, couldn't understand why you still have this show in "probation mode" when it was a success this year.

Over to you Simon

Rant again if you wish

I Have to say I'm not sure what all this is about surly its wise to find out if folk are going and set the stall out appropriately im sure the small delay in finding numbers out isn't going to be the end of the world as we know it, or is it :dontknow:

Andy, you can only have a max of 6 cars outside, it's a small area outside and a very popular show. I know of a few clubs who have already booked, guessing but I reckon you cant get more than 12 stands outside (maybe a few more), it doesn't take long to become full.
