turbo, supercharged, s3 lump

Everyone seems to be going down the same road when it comes to engine conversions,
My m8 has a mk2 with a s3 20v turbo lump in?? goes well.
I have not long had my mk1 golf 1.6 gti (4 weeks) already I have the urge for more power.
My second car is a Subaru impreza turbo, which is off the road.
Was looking at a g60 lump, but for less money I could drop a 2.0 16v lump in for the same sort of power,
Like my friend said to me once you have had a turbo it?s hard to go back to n/a engine.
Thinking about dropping a 2.0 16v into my car, then add a turbo to it. Just on the look out for a turbo kit for this, heard off them been out there?. Just wondering if anyone has done this conversion or knows where I can source the kit??

Pic of mine and my m8?s car :-

(just added the de-b grill and cystall cross hair lights)

you will not get the same sort of power from a 2.0 16v as a g60.
plenty of turbo kits about, just depends on how much money you want to pay.

actually for big power 16V turbo is the way forward, higher than 20vts etc.  But tbh mate you're best bet it to head over to CGTI or edition38.  And of course, the Vortex.  Of course to get that kinda power we're not talking 'kits', it'd need uprated internals.

Storm Developments specialise in forced induction VWs, so might be worth giving them a call.  But really if you want to Turbo it you've got to research it a bit.

The ABF lump is meant to be best compression ration and all that.  Exhaust manifold, you can get in the UK (Storm etc) but check out american VW tuning sites, loads available and cheap as chips with the rate as it is at the moment.  Good way of finding these is through the Vortex forum.

Rajmirch on ed38 has a turboed ABF in a passat estate, he used to sell all the bits as 'streetracetuning' but last time i spoke to him he was giving it up as a business, might still be worth asking him.

don't expect a 16VT to be cheap.  It can be done on a budget if you know you're stuff and have contacts, but still no cheaper than a 20vt conversion, as the 20vt stuff is all dropping in price.

Good luck with it though mate, keep us informed!
