Power steering Mod for a 1990 Clipper Auto Carb model
I would like to change the steering rack for a Power steering rack. Will bits froma MK2 fit or do I have to stick to Mk 1 rack, pump, pipes etc.
Cheers

I've got a PAS system that comprises a Nissen Bluebird rack (1984 model I think), mk3 Golf pump and 'Heath Robinson' mounting brackets. Apparently it cost the previous owner ?1400 but to honest it looks more like ?14 worth.
Looking back over the time I've had the car the PAS has been the biggest source of grief I've had (Apart from the rusty fuel lneck filler, the clutch, the leaky roof, the misfiring, etc, etc).
Having said that I still think it's a worthwhile upgrade if you plan to keep your mk1.
