bigger engine

hi i have mk 1 cab with the standred 1.8 engine kent cam, exhaust all the normal mods but i am looking to but a corrado 1.8 16v engine in will this fit and if so could i expect quite a lot more power out of this engine say 200 bhp my engine has been on the rolling road putting out 138 at mo cheers  :?

you would need to run a turbo on a 1.8 16v to get 200bhp :wink:

just chuck a 20v turbo in there and be done with it!!!!!!

What he said! That's the easiest route to 200+ bhp, these days. You can buy pretty much all the stuff off the shelf, including the custom engine mounts, exhaust manifold, etc. Costly though.

its not that costly really, it works out half the price that you would pay to have it done at TSR, they are asking ?7500 for a 20vt conversion the last time i checked. drive in on monday and pick up on friday.
