auto to manual changeover

ive got my eye on a 82 mk1 cab. but... its an auto how difficult is it to change over, asuming i got another scrap manual mk1?

Easy but very time consuming - you will need another complete donor car to make this worthwhile . If you can't get another complete car for bits then it would be very expensive . I would look at a buying a manual version if you don't want an auto , unless the auto Cabriolet is so "mint" that to convert to manual makes it worth while .

Last car i did [not a Golf] took about 3 days on and off , then i had the hassle of getting rid of the donor car .

Never again   The saying goes "never convert a car that you can buy off the shelf "
