1.6 carb water pump same as 1.8 16v?

As per title, I have a waterpump & cambelt lying around which I bought for my 1.6 carb engine. With getting a 16v engine it seems a bit pointless to do any more work on my existing engine so I was wondering will the waterpump and cambelt fit the 16v engine? Waterpump looks identical externally although not sure on the cambelt.

You sure? GSF have the same part listed for both 16v and 1.6/1.8 carb. Should also have mentioned the 1.6 engine is from a MK2.

Fit it then! Not 100% sure, but then I don't think GSF are 100% sure either…..they arent too bothered about supplying stuff which isn't quite right. AFAIK the body of the water pump is the same but the impellor is a different length. Not much, but different. Maybe a Mk2 1.6 is different to the Mk1 1.6, or it goes on different years?
