what makes me keep wanting to spend money on my mk1 cab?!!!!

haha, you may have read a few posts from me before about the mk1 cab i keep deciding to get rid of after loads of problems….but i just cant do it!! illogical love for a car thats always been my mrs' and ive always paid out for!! she deosnt even want to drive it anymore ('i just cant trust it') and so i bought her a 325!

so i got it resprayed, new hood etc etc
sorted the fuel line probs
then parked it up for 6 months thinking i would sell it…

just been to look at a mk2 gti to get as a going to work car (got a 2005 911 and want to keep the miles down!) and then just thought why not spend even more money on the cab that ive already got taking space up on the drive….!!

I must be nuts but does anyone know a DECENT engine specialist in the north west…its a standard 1.8 clipper cab autobox. thinking of getting the engine stripped down and just starting again to get it runnin really sweet. any idea of prices etc - engine isnt running at the moment but think its just the starter motor as it was starting fine before i laid it up for 6 months under cover! I need to get my trust back in the engine as the last couple of years its been a little f***** so the rebuild should do the trick!

or does anyone near liverpool fancy working on the engine (paid of course!)

Im no mechanic so im not capable of doing anything but basics…

any help would be great
