What are the best books?

I'm new to mk1 ownership and have bought the usual suspects - Haynes/restoration manual - but I wondered if there were any other book/manuals you guys rate? What's worth buying and what should be avoided?

I'm particularly interested in anything good on the 1.8gti engine
