to cover up??? cabby.

i always put the cover over the roof when it's down, cos i've heard the wind can 'blow the roof open' but just popped to the shop with out doing it (coulnd't be arsed) and it was fine, i drove very slow though.

just wondering what others do? and if it's the norm or to a set speed?
plus any other info on it?

elecy 1 btw

cheers damo.

I've had these cars for 15 years and never worried about it…. till now lol…
anyway "blow it open" surely it is open?
If wind did get in it I think gravity and the resistance in the hydraulics/mechanism if manual… would stop it.
The reason a cover is good is that road grime and soot gets onto the headlining if you don't use a cover…

Yeah that is the only reason that I can see for the cover - that & that it tidies it up a bit looks wise.
I have never been worried about the wind blowing the roof up - it is locked down in place & the wind will push it down & back rather that up.

Ha, ha, ha. That's so funny you're a genius

Perhaps if we had a Joke Corner we could stick you in it.   :lmao:

Anyway, I drive with it off if I'm just nipping out but if I'm going on any kind of longish journey I'll put it on, especially if it involves going above 40mph. I think it's safer with it on anyway and it keeps the headlining clean.

Tian

hey wodders we floppy toppers wouldn't send you to coventry, we might lead you there and then let all your tyres down, but we wouldn't send you there
