That Feeling

I'd forgotten how nice that feeling is when you are driving your MK1 and you get acknowledged by another VW driver.  Been driving mine back and forth to work this week to give her a good run and was flashed and given the thumbs up by a MK2 driver yesterday and the driver of a Transporter van this morning.

Love that feeling……makes me feel all warm inside  

It's great isn't it! I had my first proper comment from a non VW driver the other weekend. A 50-ish year old guy stopped next to me at the traffic lights in the next lane and shouted over (our windows were open) that he loved my car and used to drive a mk1 himself and was pleased to see it still in use…shame he was in a Renault, but I didn't have the heart to say that he's gone downhill a bit!
Also some chav in a pimped Pug 106 also gave me the thumbs up the other day too! Just goes to show, everyone appreciates a classic dub!  

Yeah, its great.  I had a guy also come over to me when I was working on mine before the MOT asking if I was putting her back on the road.  Told him I was and he proceeded to rave about how they are the best car in the world and how he couldn't wait to see mine back on the road.  Nice for a complete stranger to come up and say that.

Also, I must confess, my other car is a Renault Scenic  :redfaced:  (sensible family option, too many kids and not enough seats in the golf   ).  Although I do have my 'My other car is a MK1 Golf' sticker across the back window  

Don't worry, most cars simply can't be as good as a mk1 Golf, so therefore any other car has to be 'going downhill a BIT'!  :wink:

Always a nice feeling  when you get positive comments …….a couple i've had that made me chuckle , apparently my car is sexy , and it's also flipping   sick

Ha !! drove my back from the garage the other week with my wife following in my company car and she complained that all the blokes were looking at my car and not her!!!
