Oil pressure guage/sender issue

Hi guys,

I'm buying a centre console with the Oil Pressure and Oil temperature guages.

The oil pressure guage is 0-5 bar rated.

I think I might have possibly sourced a sender for both the pressure and temperature guages.

The sender is out of an audi coupe.

My question is therefore, would anyone know if the audi coupe sender was a 0-5 bar pressure rating and if it'd work with the guages i'm getting?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Peace!

i think if there are both vdo items they should work but im not 100% think you may also need a t piece to mount the sender, also im sure the sender should have its rating stamped on it, iirc wasnt the coupe a 5cylinder?

Ahh right I see.

Yeah I think the coupe was a 5 cylinder like you say.

So does this mean it probably wouldn't work?

i couldnt tell you if it will or not but you need to find out what its rating is, if it is 0-5 bar then i think youll be ok

Yeah, the guy who's offering me the sender said he was running his Oil Pressure VDO guage on his 8v with it.

I assume that because the audi coupe guages were VDO then it should work?

I'm just waiting on him to actually have a look what pressure rating is stamped on the sender haha!

Thanks for your help though mate :y:

Good news then :D

And could you please post a link to which t-piece i'll need exactly?

I don't know too much about the wiring/connecting up of guages

Thanks mate! :y:

Josh - you might not need the t-piece. Have a look at the oil filter housing on your car and see if there are any 'blanks' in it (grub screw type things with allen head recesses). If there are then you can take one out for the sender.

Hi Mark,

Ahh right I see!

I shall have a look when I get a minute and it's still light!

Thanks for the advice yet again!
