chriswizz , Approx 750 one way, from manchester.

I went in 08 and continued on to poland for just under 2 weeks and went last year just germany with family.
Did you go on the massive swings on others side of main entrance, they are awesome ride.
I am well happy they now have the citi golf on show, it wasn't there last year, i now own a confirmed classic as mine is a 97, thou i would want to own that 09 one.
On both times i did not go straight on.
I stayed over in brugge then next morning set off for wolfsburg, staying a few days in Hanover as it only approx 10 mile from autostadt.
If you plan on going, book appointment for the 4x4 track, you get to drive toureg and tiguan round the 4x4 track, cost 25 euros and well worth the experience, thou it is a selling tactic you driving them as they tell you what it can do etc etc, think entrance fee for autostadt was 35 euros for family.
If you have kids, you don't need to book, but get them on the driving test track, they do a mini theory test, then actual driving of little top looking beetles, last approx 45mins, gives you and missus time alone to relax.
Mine got the autostadt driving licenses and were well chuffed with the day out, they didn't want to leave.

that place is awesome!  not been yet, but on the list.  the 2 towers are delivery towers.  as in you buy your car from a dealer and collect it from there instead of the dealer.  they used to allow british dealers to arrange this, but they stopped it for some reason, but i beleive you still can if you are buying from a german dealership.  great pictures.
