Manifold Gasket

Ok just a quick question really, ive bin in touch with GSF and they told me the part is obsolete and then went to VW main dealer and they told me the same, only think they could do is call over to their classic parts manufacturer in Germany and get one made up / sent over here. Basically I'm trying to find an inlet manifold gasket for a 1.1 engine is there any way of making your own? I've seen people just using cardboard for carb gaskets but guessing you'd need something abit stronger than that for the actually manifold?

loctite engine silcone will do the job just fine mate, bout a fiver for the tube, temp & oil resistant etc, just make sure you remove all traces of the old gasket from both the manifold and the head.  You can pick it up from halfords, comes in a grey box if I remember rightly

cheers for the reply ross, sorted it in the end a local garage had one lying around from a 1.1 that wasnt the formal e so just had to reuse the bits of the old gasket around the 2 air feeds on the top if that makes sense?
