M55 Kirkham Roundabout near villas looked like gti rear ended by van

I couldn't believe what I saw when I came off the M55 from Preston there was a  Mk 1 golf that looked fantastic.

Was it you?  All the way home to Preesall I was wondering if you and the car were OK because it looked like a white van had gone into the back of you.

Seeing the Golf today has made me realise how much I miss mine and how much I really want/need another one.

My search has now begun.

That was me unfortunately. yes, rear ended by a van. Gutted.
I was on the way to FJ Classic Car Show at Manchester's Event City where we were supposed to be showing all weekend, never got there.

Bumper and the tailgate both damaged. Already have the go ahead from the insurance company and surveyed by my local bodyshop who is a VW enthusiast, having done the full modded show cars in the past and knows the Mk1 Golf well, so will be in good hands.

That's a fair chunk of originality lost.
I need a mint rear bumper if anyone knows of one. VW tailgates are available through VW heritage so ok there.

Don't like to do it but now thinking of a trailer.
