Irish Car Insurance
The car insurance world is one big mystery to me.
Im from dublin (ireland) and 22.
Ive been driving since i was 17. First car i was insured on as a named driver on was the mothers Fiat Cinquento. (not even a 1lt engine).
Passed my test at 18 and i bought a mini city E off a neighbour but had to sell it as NO-ONE would even quoute me to insure it.
Took the plunge at twenty at bought a real car( in the EYES of insurance companies) (fiat punto 98 1.2). Paid 2400 to insure it third party fire and theft. This year again i forked out 1800 for another years insurance Third party fire and theft. (three months ago)
Rang around this morning to insure a new aquistion 1.6 Gti Convertible. Was very optomistic..Thought it was going to be a waste of my time in fact. thought be another car for sale….
8O To find that it would half as much as i paid for my punto.>>>>and COMPREHENSIVE…900 EURO.
I d'ont get it…
on the site it says
Your Car is not a car vanette, kit car, sports car, convertible, gti, Vtec. Is a right hand drive model and not converted, adapted or modified in any way.
mmm… mines alll that and i told them.
maybe because it was my birthday
Im still amazed at it…rang ive rang them twice to check it..
(maybe the lesson to all irish twenty year olds is…forget ure hot hatchs and muppet modiles and buy a proper CLASSIC…or in my view a proper car
