Replacing a Sidemarker lamp spin the screw.

Yesterday, I had to replace the two rear marker lights on my Cabriolet.
How many like me have had one screw back out, and the other just spin away?



Then you have to keep unscrewing it until you can get a thin flat blade under it to heep the nylon fastener from spinning, or insert a thin pair of forceps to hold it fast to unscrew it.

So now you are left with the same thing happening when you replace the bulb and go to re-screw it into place.

I have the fix.

Place one small drop of Super glue between the body and the edge of the keeper.


As soon as you remove the dropper Dust the area with Baking soda (Sodium Bicarbonite).



This will instantly harden the super glue, and give it an edge to bind on that the screw won't break loose, also if you grease the screw it will go in quicker will less fuss….




This will affix the keeper in place and allow you to screw the lens back in place, as Super Glue is water soluble it will eventually give up the ghost long before you have to replace the lamp again and allow you plenty of time to order in the proper nylon lens lock.
