Hi all,

Don't know if this is the right place to post. But, how can I delete my private messages? Also, can I a none paying member send and receive private messages?

Thanks

Don't know how to delete PM's if you are referring to where they are all stored, but if you mean removing them when you get one and they pop up when you log in, then just select IGNORE and they won't come up again.

You don't have to be a paid member though to make and receive PM's once you have been validated after your first few posts.

I'm guessing that they can only be deleted by an Administrator because even we Moderators don't have that level of access.

But why bother, I mean I must have a 1,000 or more.
I see the new ones come in and over time the older ones drop to the second page and so on…

I don't believe you can delete them permanently, but if you want to clean up your PT page of old messages try this…

When viewing the message there's a 'control function' button, bottom left of screen .

Select 'Catagorise' then one of your existing folders (eg. 'Trash' in my case) or if none already exist, create a new folder. You seem to be able to create as many folders as needed, useful if you want to filter messages to dedicated folders.

Hit the ' Catagorise Private Topic' button to complete the action, and the PT will have moved off you opening page to your chosen sub folder. The next time you visit the PT opening page you'll have a link to that sub folder for later ease of access (and it'll also appear on the 'existing folders' menu should you want to send more messages there again.)

I can't recall if I created the ' Trash' button or it was a pre-existing option on the site, either way it doesn't matter. If it's not there for you, you can simply create it using the 'New' catagory option and give it what ever title suits you. It'll be there next time.

Messages put into sub folders can still be viewed by going into the sub catagory you created for them… That's why I think you can never truely delete them.
