Need some help on what to do next

Hi there guys,

I'm new to this forum and hope you can help me out.

I have a 1978 MK1, 1.1 petrol.
It came with cluster from MotoMeter with only Speedometer and petrol level.



I bought a VDO cluster with Rev counter, petrol level and temp level



My problem now is that I see that the loom conector on the MotoMeter is 10pin and the VDO is 14 pin…




Is there someone who made this change and can give me some support?

Should I look for a 14pin conector? If yes, would it be plug and play?

I'm kind of new to the forums, never used one actually.
If I'm not making the right questions in the right places let me know.

This thread mentions the early plug being 12 pin, but it is American so, maybe they were different there.
