No power to Fuel Pump

Post

Can was running and had driven about 1000km in it.  Dash was removed to replace fan/heater box (butchered), car still running. Installed heater box and moved some wires with hand.  Car stopped working.  Pump used to prime on first click of key. Doesn’t anymore.  Bought new heller fuel pump relay from Germany using car VIN number, Still didn’t work.  Bought brand new fuse box from Heritage parts plugged all in and nothing, old one did have water damage.

I have replaced all grounds on the car following the Grounds thread on the forums (https://www.vwvortex.com/threads/ground-effects-and-the-repair-of-your-car.5284503/), no luck, still no power going to the pump.

The pump runs if I hook it up to another battery and 2 wires.
When I turn the key the fuel pump relay clicks for the prime, just no power to the pump.  I have checked the yellow/red wire and brown from pump to back of fuse board and all seems fine.  Jumped pin 30 and 87 and pump does not run.  That would suggest a wiring issue to the pump, but I have visually inspected all wires.

I’m really unsure how to get it going.  Do I run 2 new wires from pump to battery to get the thing working? Then splice those wire into the back of the fuse box?

Hope some has some ideas.

Thanks

Use a jumper to bypass the relay, and if that works then you have a iffy relay or a wiring issue from the fuse box to the pump.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?
