Mk1 caddy tail light not working

Brake lights work side light doesnt

As the title. I cannot get the side lights working. When i started looking at this yesterday. The rear tail light was not working. Now the whole right side lights are not working
It seems intermittent as when i test voltage at the lights i can get 12 volts then next time i check i dont.
It feels like there is a loose connection somewhere. But even when i have 12v to the rear the bulb will not light. I am going to get some new bulbs just to rule it out.
Things i have done already
Run an earth from the battery
Checked 12v on the bulb holder
12v at the headlight switch

If someone could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated this is totally baffled me

You need to load-test, not just check for 12V with a voltmeter. Ironically, most pro mechanics use a bulb + bulb-holder for their load test!

Its probably a poor connection or green/crusty somewhere further up the circuit. It might even be at the back of the fusebox…..

Ah yes i rigged up a spare side light and it wouldn't power it so there musnt be enough amps yo power even a smaller bulb. I will start looking at the circuit near the fuse box and see what i can find
Thanks for the quick replys

You realise it was a complete guess, plucked out of thin air, from me?
