Series 2 MK1 Golf - Weber carb
Excuse my novice-ness.
My MK1 Golf (HRL 998W) has been a pain for a while now in regards to fuel. Runs extremely lean but recently hasn't been running at all.
It's a Series 2 btw.
I've changed most of the fuel system - no luck.
Mechanic reckons carb & to put back on the manual choke.
I bought THIS new carb for Lemony - https://www.vwheritage.com/wc12915290993-weber-carburettor-kit-34-ich-manual-gearbox-15-vw-spare
Carb Kit Weber, 1457cc Golf '77-80, 34ICH, Replaces Solex PICTmanual transmission
I got the carb and sent him off to get fixed but the carb 'doesn't fit.'
The inlet manifold is incorrect.
I'm really unsure what that even means.
Anyone had this issue?
Apparently its common with this type of carb.
Thanks

In the listing in the link it states 77 to 80 and you have a 81 car?

I would try and send it back and use a Weber 32/34 DTML + adapter plate on your original manifold
Solex type (part 055129713N):

Does yours look like this?
