Auxiliary air valve, warm up regulator, or something else?

Post

Hi, my first post here.

Got a bit of an idle issue with my 1982 1.8 gti.. so it starts from cold OK, runs at sort of 1100 rpm then drops to what it should sort of 950 rpm. A few minutes later it'll  drop further to the point it's only just running, and it'll then start cutting out and won't run without foot on the accelerator.

Once its warm it runs and idles fine but some days it'll run at 1k, others 800 rpm and other days 1200 rpm, I'm not really too sure where to start looking,  any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, kyle

OK thanks, probably does need some attention anyway even if it's not the cause of the problem. Got a few bits blanked off etc and have no idea why.
