Anyone ever thought of going to the homeland?

Nurrenberg that is! Some autobahn and the ring sounds very appealing to myself and a few mates! Anyone made it in a mk1?

I would go on cooking oil 45p per liter, so that means you couldnt follow me as the smell would make you in the car behind want to eat all the way there   you would arrive as fatties

I did the `Ring` last year on the way the `Worthersee` Vw show in Austria, what a laugh,i was waving a Union jack flag out of the window on the left side of the car and all the photographers stared in horror as we roared around the bends at 60 or 70 plus MPH and they thought i was driving with my hands off the wheel ha ha ha! (remember the steering wheel is on the other side)

Excellent, the drive to the `Ring` is easy and does`nt take long from the ferry,we blasted round it then drove another 800 odd miles to Southern Austria for the show afterwards lol :D

Wooosh mate sounds like a good run (especially with the 800+ sfterwards)

Few quick questions i have are,

How much was the fuel approx? (to the ring)
How much was the ferry etc?

Would ask jon but i dont see him that often dont want hm to think im only in contact for some info! lol
cheers ebo

The Ferry over last year cost us 75 quids return,i cant give you a precise cost on fuel as we took a W8 Passat in 06 but when i drove my 8V in 05 i spent only 200 quids there AND back to southern Austria :D

Yup, I drove down to the ring last summer. It's only 2 1/2 hours from my house so not too taxing. Highly recommended at least once in your life as is a trip in one of the ring taxis.
