Accident repair in Southampton?

Some twit drove into the back of my precious '92 Rivage on Saturday afternoon.

In some ways it's not too disastrous in that no-one was hurt (speed was about 25mph) and the other driver's admitted responsibility.

The back bumper's been pushed forward, so that the side is rubbing against the nearside tyre, the boot panel now looks slightly concave and the boot latch won't close.

However, I have two concerns:

1. Because it's 17 years old the insurance company might write it off. I think there's probably more damage underneath the bumper than I can see.

2. Past experience suggests that "approved" repair shops do no more than an adequate job on body repairs.

I'd quite like to get a couple of independent repair quotes myself. Does anyone know of *good* body repair shops around Southampton? i.e someone who'll take a bit more care and do a decent repair?

Many Thanks,

Gerry

bodyshop

I know its not in southampton, but depending where your based its not too far. He's just repaired and painted my dads van which had a pallet of concrete blocks fall against it!! Your car dont sound to bad tbh,

There is a bodyshop on Hayling Island called 'Prep n Paint' run by a guy called Gary. From Light scuffs to full resto/resprays, he has done work on my vw's for a few years now, and I would highly recommend him  .

You can give him a buzz on 07980 314851
