Timax rear box doesn't fit to mid silencer?????

As per title really, just bought a Timax rear silencer from Euro Car Parts as my old back box kind of fell off  :redfaced: .

Thing is, the inlet pipe to the new rear box is exactly the same size as the outlet of my mid section yet it looks like a standard one!!!

Confused, anyone else had this problem?

Checked out the part numbers online and it would appear to be the right box for the car.

Is there a standard looking performance system out there that I might have on my car? I think when I was underneath re-attaching the system when I changed the engine that it might have said Ernst or Ansa on it. Will check in a bit.

you will need a sleeve that slides over both pipes and clamps them together, the newer vws use that method too,the clamps are readily avaliable,i use bosal if i can for good fit and quality

Just checked it and it is an Ernst system so just gunna get a new Ernst back box from GSF.

The new Timax back box has slots cut in it where it's supposed to be clamped after sleeving over the centre section so one of the sleeve type clamps would just squash the new back box.

Nevermind!
