Straight through pipe?

Right so I adore the note that comes out of the back of 1.3 '83 Driver. It's just so damn quite?!

I'd love to be able to hear it over the engine noise, and generally make it a bit louder, without changing the note.

I understand that making a 1.3 sounds awesome is a challenge, and any new complete exhaust system i've heard on a car smaller than 1.8 in my opinion just sounds chavy! I've heard that changing the front box of my exhaust for a straight pipe can keep the note sounding deep and delicious but just simply making it louder, which is essentially what i want.

I'd love to here some opinions on this, any feedback you can give me is greatly appreciated!
