fuel pressure probs

i recently picked up 81 rabbit convert and im having problems with the fuel injection. Im getting fuel pressure from the fuel filter to the fuel distributor but once in goes to there the injector ports on the top seem to not be putting out any pressure at all they are barely even dripping out. Now i was told it could be the fuel pressure regulator (if thats what it is called ahhaha) the thing located on the front of the motor that the steel braided lines go to, but i was wondering if anyone else had any ideas on what it could be. Oh also is the cold start valve supposed to be spraying extreme amounts of fuel into the motor cause it seems like its spraying a lot in there.

could be the fuel filter, I had the same problem on my MK2 16v.  if you'rte worried about the 5th injector disconnect it for now till you get the injectors to spray fuel
