Can metering heads be rebuilt?

After trying to find a decent metering head it proved difficult, everybody says 'was running when took off the car' and I'm tempted to have one rebuilt so it's like brand new and know it will work. It's the Kr metering head to be specific but if one can be done I'd happily pay fr it doing.

I'm looking into having this done, there is a company called KMI Home Page
The guy quoted me £300 plus VAT!
Also found a guy on American eBay who'll rebuild for more than half that - His username is Fueldistributors

Rebuild kit though - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220338298206?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

The problem is that they usually fail due to internal corrosion, if rusty particles have got ino the fuel system. If that has happened then they are not repairable.
I have split one in the past and it was an absolute b1tch to get back together, and even when I did it seeped fuel :-(
Apparently there is a proper assembly sealant that you need.
Once apart you will see that it is actually very simple, just four pressure restrictors with slits for fuel to flow through, the lower the metering plunger drops the more of the slit open to each injector line and the more fuel that will flow. There is a pressure regulator that can be shimmed to alter the system pressures this can have new seals without splitting.

That is good to know, but that kit is not for splitting the metering head itself.
