wipers not working

Hi all

Got MK1 out of storage and getting it road/MOT ready, however, I have found that window washers work but the wipers don't budge an inch.

can anybody help or give me any idea's where to start

check you're getting 12v at the wiper motor.
check fuses, relays and continuity.
check the linkage hasn't seized up.
check the wash/wipe stalk works.

replace/repair where necessary.

mk2/3 golf wiper motor fits and is a nice upgrade, cut a couple inches of wiring from the donor. then either splice it to old loom or crimp some male spades on and push em into mk1 plug. Check the wiper mech hasnt siezed up too, strip the spindles and grease em

I have treacle wipers..  So slow its a struggle to wipe the rain off.  Might try a strip down and degrease but I like the mk2 upgrade path.
