sidelight/indicator wierdness

I thought this was strange, but maybe normal. i left the indicator on and pulled out the key, went for a kebab! :mrgreen:  when walking back i noticed one headlight alone was on, the side which i indicated. when the key went back in the indicator came on and the headlight went back out!

is it like a warning/reminder thats wired into the system? or is something a little odd! :dontknow:

Ancient electrics do some funny things, but nothing odd.  It's a parking light -  works both sides

that's meant to happen. I think the sidelights in most cars come on if you leave the indicator on. Both my golfs do Mk1 and Mk3, and my works Astra as well. Maybe it's a safety thing
