Sidelight and Parking Light

I've got a problem which is really bugging me!. My drivers side sidelight will not work from the headlight switch, but if I turn the engine off and leave the indicator stalk switched for that side parking lights, it works!!!  

Has anyone got any ideas?!?

Try for a loose connector on the back of the headlight switch

i had this problem tonight mate it was the fuse box third fuse in from the drivers side give it a go ??

I have checked pretty much everything, but this is driving me SO crazy that I shall go over everything again, starting with these 2 suggestions.
