few lose ends

OK ive sorted my way through the messy maze of an engine bay, and im left with only a small problem here on the electrics (well i hope)..

FIRST PROBLEM

Ive noticed a wire "tied" around the bottom of a fuse at the fusebox, and have traced it to the carb solnoid. Does anyone know where its meant to be going to as i dont want a dash fire.

AND..

 Theres also another wire tied to a second fuse, which goes to Some electrical component next to the coil, and then onto the coil.. i have no idea what this is but without it, the car doesnt run.. this component before the coil gets very hot during running.. any ideas? :dontknow:
